What in the hell is “soul style” you might be asking yourself? Well my friend, not only am I going to answer that question, but over the course of the next 4 weeks I’m going to do a deep dive into each of the 8 soul styles. AND I’m going to help you to nail down your own unique personal soul style so that you’ll be able to express your best most authentic self through your style…
SO, WHAT EXACTLY IS SOUL STYLE?
Simply put, soul style is when your outer image meshes perfectly with your inner essence. It’s the process of figuring out & designing your personal style from the inside out. It’s when what you’re wearing reflects who you truly are on a deep down level. Your soul style is dressing in a way that actually feels like you…the woman that you know yourself to be.
If you’re dressing to your soul style, not only are you being true to yourself, but you’re also sharing with the world the absolute most badass version of yourself…and isn’t that how you really want to live your life?

Your soul style is just one piece of the bigger picture. There is an organic & unavoidable intertwining of self-image, emotions, mindset & the clothing you choose to wear. Each one of those pieces holds a major influence over the others. If you are really honest with yourself in regard to what types of clothing you gravitate towards & truly love…the clothing you would wear if self-doubt & fear of judgement wasn’t standing in your way…that clothing is your soul style.
And stepping into the power of wearing what you truly love will have an undeniable positive impact on not only your self-image, emotions & mindset, but your entire life.
A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE 8 SOUL STYLE ARCHETYPES
Since today is an introductory post, I’m just going to give you a very brief rundown on each of the soul style archetypes. There are 8 total and I will go into much greater detail on each in Parts Two & Three of the series.
Romantic/Glam
Think uber-feminine & subtly (or not) sexy…chiffon & satin…ruffles & bows…all things sparkly & glamorous…sky high heels & lots of jewels.
Bohemian
All the hippie-fabulous vibes…cotton multi print skirts & dresses…fringe, tassels, layered jewelry…cowboy boots or flat sandals…flowy layers.
Creative
Picture all the brightest colors & prints in one place…hand painted or hand made…distinctive & offbeat…pieces that shouldn’t go together, but somehow do…quirky.
Classic/Traditional
Ladies who lunch…not a hair out of place…dressed up even when dressed down…nothing trendy, only the classics…pearls & tasteful pumps.
Dramatic/Modern
Think sharp graphic angles & structure…stark black & white…high contrast…power suits…stilettoes…drama, lots of visual interest…always aware of current trends.
Elegant
English countryside meets Indiana Jones…lots of tweed, elbow patches & neutrals…riding boots are a whole vibe…closet full of classic investment pieces that will last a lifetime.
Rebellious/Rock & Roll
The rule-breaker that doesn’t play well with authority…band tees, shredded denim, leather leggings…moto jackets, thick chain necklaces & Doc Martens…red plaid & leopard print.
Natural/Relaxed
Picture the pretty tomboy next door…denim, comfy tee shirts, flannels…no fuss, all natural…tennis shoes & Birkenstocks…minimal color palette…comfort is key.
