A Snuggie For The Cool Kids: Plaid Cape, Chunky Cardigan And Skinny Jeans

Once it hits below sixty-five degrees I’m cold. All of the time. If I could spend the winter wrapped in a blanket I’d be a happy girl. Unfortunately, wearing a blanket to work and probably to most public places isn’t really acceptable behavior. So imagine how excited I was when I discovered this cape/shawl. It’s like a Snuggie, but way cooler. I can be warm and toasty and still look fabulous at the same time so it’s a total win-win for me. Um…yeah, and it’s plaid…triple bonus points! Although one day I was bundled up in it at school and one of my students asked me if it was a blanket so I’m not sure what that says about it.
These shots were taken a week or two ago before the epic return of the polar vortex…as a side note, it’s supposed to -6 this morning. Really? WTH!! It’s November not January! In any case, it was warm enough that the chunky cardigan underneath was all I needed to keep warm. Layered it all over a graphic tee and skinny jeans and I was good to go.

Definitely way cooler than a Snuggie… although I DID see a battery-powered snuggie online the other day that has kind of got me wanting to amend my Christmas list… our heat likes to go out for weeks in the winter, sooo…. anyway, you look super fabulous and warm… and this has got to be the longest, most grammatically problematic sentence I’ve ever written. And now I’m rambling. The end. 🙂

That cape is a find! Looks so warm and plaid! So -6 sounds a bit intimidating. Perhaps I should enjoy my 60+ day weather and stop complaining that it doesn’t feel like fall already, eh? ;p

We are back in the deep freeze like you and I HATE it. With very little summer and now winter’s early arrival it seems Mother Nature is trying to ensure I end up in an insane asylum very soon.

I like the cape/snuggie/blanket and all your layers.

I finally have to head out to Costco today and I’m not looking forward to it. Might have to grab a blanket on my way out the door ; )

bisous
