I own more clothes than should be legally permitted. I think sequins and glitter make your day just a little bit brighter. I refuse to go out in public without perfectly manicured nails. I can’t resist a good skirt; especially if it has pockets. You get the idea…
Total girly girl, right? Uh, no. Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely a girly girl; when I want to be. Then there’s the girl who spent all day yesterday covered in dirt, sweat and sawdust while helping my husband carry 6′ by 8′ sheets of fence across the yard and installing them. That is after removing the broken sections and tossing them in the giant dumpster that’s still in our driveway. Wow. You guys must be jealous of the exciting life I lead between this and last week’s garage cleaning adventure. Here’s the thing though, I’ve never been afraid of getting down and dirty (c’mon now, I mean in a hard-working kinda way). If crap needs done, I git ‘er done. But afterwards, I take a shower, curl my hair, and put on the sequins…well, actually I took a shower, put on my jammies and fell asleep on the couch with wet hair, but you get the idea.
I don’t often wear ankle booties in summer, although I do love the look of them with shorts and skirts. These brown ankle booties are probably my favorite although I do have them in red and cream/ivory. Love the look or not, it’s usually just too hot for me to rock the boots in the summer. But since it has been so weirdly chilly this summer, I’ve been able to wear ankle booties and layers more than usual. Good thing from a fashion stance, bad thing from a “c’mon it’s summer” stance. The frog graphic tee came c/o Chaos NY back in March where I styled it with chambray and lace. As I’ve said before, all of my graphic tees have a reason behind them. I chose this one because I have a peculiar love for both tree frogs and poison dart frogs. Weird, I know, but it is what it is. Another one of those little idiosyncrasies that make me the lovable bundle of weirdness that I am.
