You all know of my ongoing love affair with camo. I know, I’ve kinda got a thing with plaid too. Fortunately they are both pretty understanding and allow me to love them both with very little squabbling. Here’s the thing about camo, and actually plaid as well now that I think about it. It can be one of two things; a super cool fashion statement or an “I’m headin’ out to the woods for a week to find a new head to hang on the wall” statement. Personally, I’m a fan of the former. Animal heads belong on animal bodies not my living room wall. (I don’t mean to offend, I just don’t want animal heads on my wall. If that’s what you’re into, then kudos.)
When I wear camo, I always make sure that the cut and style of the item is fashiony and a little unexpected like these camo pants from GAP. I also tend to pair camo with something girly to counterbalance it. Hence, the fuzzy pink sweater and leopard pumps. If I stopped by Walmart after work I’m pretty sure no one is going to make the mistake of thinking that I’m stopping to grab a gallon of milk on my way home from gutting a deer. At least I hope so anyway. My point is, when going with a print like camo you want to prevent it from looking too hunter-esque or military. Making sure that at least one of your other pieces is most definitely feminine is the way to go.
