I thought today I’d share some top secret insight into who I am. Interested?…
If that’s not your thing and you’re totally here for the stellar outfit then feel free to scroll down to the pictures. I won’t be insulted; I mean seriously, how could I be? It’s not like I can see you through your computer/phone screen…or can I? Nah. I’m just playin’, do as you please.
- I’m not a natural redhead. My hair is actually brown. Okay, if I’m being 100% honest, right now I’d be naturally gray. My hair started to go gray in my early 30’s and now it’s almost entirely gray. And not in that silky pretty white haired way, more in a wiry Brillo pad ‘fro kind of way.
- I made the decision to be a special education teacher when I was 5 years old. My baby brother was born that year and he had multiple disabilities. He passed away when he was an infant and I decided at that moment I wanted to help kids like him.
- I have an extremely difficult time dealing with any sort of change in my world; big or small, it totally freaks me out. Order and predictability are my BFFs.
- I am really and truly terrified of gargoyles. Don’t laugh…I’m aware they’re not real. When I was just a wee one I had fallen asleep on the couch and when I woke up in the middle of the night the movie “Gargoyles” was on. (Not familiar? Google “1970’s gargoyle movie” and you’ll see I’m not crazy!). If I watched it now I’m sure it would be hysterical, much like “Zombeavers”, but when you’re 6 it’s terrifying. To overcome my fear I forced myself to put a gargoyle in my yard…it kinda looks like Rick James though so I don’t know if it counts.
- I spent my entire childhood living in a trailer park. That means my white trash cred is legit my friends.
I’m totally loving the uniqueness of this particular pair of cropped linen joggers. First off, they’re linen and I can honestly say I’ve never owned anything linen in my life. That would be because of the wrinkle factor. I avoid ironing at all costs and am a big fan of the “fluff it in the dryer” method of wrinkle removal. Due to the slouchy nature of joggers the wrinkliness kind of works. They’re also a nice neutral shade of khaki. I know there are some khaki haters out there, but it’s one of my favorite neutral bases to build an outfit from. You can pair it with other neutrals like I did today or with brighter colors like I did here. Either way, I think it works. I wasn’t feeling the head to toe neutral look so I added the sandals and necklace for a shot of color.
