Floaty Flowers: Floral Print Kimono, Distressed Skinny Jeans And Graphic Tee

My kimono obsession reached critical mass this weekend. A month ago I had none…now I have five. Yes. Five. I imagine they will be in heavy rotation over the coming months, so hopefully you guys like ’em. This little lovely arrived last week and I couldn’t wait to wear it. The weather Saturday wasn’t exactly kimono friendly, but I wore it anyway because damn it, it’s Spring. Saturday was a big shopping day, so it was comfortable and perfect to slide off and on, you know, so I could easily try on other kimonos. I started the day going to a consignment store that I didn’t even know existed. My best friend and her daughter (my adopted niece) turned me on to it and we made an all girls trip to check it out. I picked up two fabulous pink boho-esque tops that will be perfect in a few weeks when the weather warms up. They popped up in a sneak peek on my Instagram yesterday.
After that, my husband and I took our daughter to spend her birthday cash/gift cards. And no trip to the “big mall” would be complete without a stop in Forever 21. I was actually there on a mission…to retrieve a lace kimono. I’m happy to report that my collection does indeed include a lace kimono. While I was there I also picked up a gorgeous watercolor print long one as well. Which brought the total to five. I think I’m good now, but I’m not making any promises…

I have a question for you my friends. My blog is in serious need of a redesign, but I have no clue who to enlist to help me out with that. Do you have any suggestions in regard to website designers?

I don’t own any kimonos either and this one is so feminine. I can’t wait to see the others! As for blog design, I would say look at the blogs that you like their designs and usually the name of the company that designed it is at the bottom and send an email out to them. The one thing is have to cautious of is to make sure you buy or create you own artwork since most are copyrighted.

Alice…you need a kimono…now! Thank you for the tips. I’ve got a couple of designers in mind after looking at other blogs like you suggested.

This is gorgeous on you. I just love the colours. I have been holding off on my kimono obsession because I must have the first one I spotted which is close to $250 if I remember correctly. I don’t know about blog design since I did mine myself. The graphic design part of it is easy peazy for me. It is the actual HTML or bloggy stuff I hate and struggle with. I just saw that Marionberry Style had hers redone and it looks great. Might want to check out who she used. If you are desperate for a header… Read more »

Debbie! Very adorable! This kimono look is trending well. I think I may have to embrace it. I love your hair! Have I ever told you that? (i’m being silly, of course I have….one of our first bonding moments was addressing your hair and that you color it yourself and i was shocked yet inspired and we have laughed about life every since, huh?)

No…it’s the first I’ve heard the hair compliment…hahaha! You must go out right this second and buy yourself a kimono. Go. Right now.

These suit you to a T. You look lovely and so feminine … you wear them so well. Because you have great shoulders? They just fall in such nice drapes on you. Its fun to have a harmless obsession that doesn’t even cost much! Won’t mind at all seeing them in rotation … bet they’ll style all different ways for you!
Happy Belated Birthday to your daughter!
