Floral Skirt…Colder Weather Edition

I had purchased this skirt for a wedding this summer and styled it with a lace top and sandals (here).  It’s just too gorgeous to retire it until next spring so I winterized it.  Not that that makes me a rocket scientist.  I just threw on tights, boots, a scarf, and a sweater in place of the lace top and sandals.  Genius, right?
It really pops against the all black, and the black makes the skirt the focal point of the outfit.  I think I probably got more compliments on this look than anything I’ve worn for a long time.  That wasn’t the goal, but hey, I must have done something right.

Style Tip:  If you want an item to be the star of an outfit, pair it with a neutral background to make it stand out.

That is such a beautiful skirt, and it really does pop against the black! 🙂

Hope you get lots of wear out of it over the cooler months 🙂

Such a vibrant contrast. I see why you didn’t want to part with that skirt for two whole seasons!

Such an unusual combination but so pretty. The colours in the skirt are just lovely. It’ll work perfectly with my pink cashmere sweater. Hint hint…nudge nudge…wink wink : )

I love this look romantic and bucolic. The skirt is beautiful, and the red scarf looks wonderful with the black of the rest of the outfit. Lovely outfit.
