My next few posts are probably going to be light on the words…
THE STORY
…because of my thumb. Yes, my thumb. I have had a popping in my thumbs since I was young; they lock up and I have to pop them to free them up. Which by the way is awesome, because I can’t stand the sound of people cracking bones. Necks, backs, knuckles, it doesn’t matter. It just creeps me out. Anyway, a few years back it got pretty severe and became painful. Two surgeries later it became apparent that it wasn’t “trigger finger”, but we did discover there are bone spurs on the joints of both thumbs along with a touch of arthritis. Although that knowledge did nothing to fix the problem. In any case my right thumb is having a major tantrum. It’s swollen to the point it looks like one of those little canned sausages and the pain is ridiculous so I’ll be rocking a super cool thumb splint/stabilizer for awhile. Needless to say, typing is a challenge hence the light on the words posts.
THE OUTFIT
The last time I wore this floral tunic was as a dress with otk boots. This time I layered it over white skinny jeans. It’s not cold enough to really call it winter, but cold enough that bare legs aren’t really an option. I went with gray ballet flats because if I’m being honest, I was too lazy to fetch my gray ankle boots from the attic. And here it is…the gray version of the lace flip vest I wore last week. And as promised, this time I documented it’s physics-defying awesomeness for you via a photo collage.
THE TIP
An often overlooked way to style a lighter weight dress (or any dress really) is to layer it over jeans or pants. I myself prefer to do this with skinny jeans although flares would work as well. The key here is proportion; think streamlined. This is one time the boyfriend jeans need to stay at home.
