Flower Power: Floral Print Blazer, Olive Green Khakis And Multi-color Wedge Sandals

Truth be told, I wore this blazer to work with the tag still on it. On purpose. Why? Well, here’s the thing…I’ve wanted a floral print blazer and when I saw this one I fell in love with it. The colors are gorgeous and the cut is really simple. I’m also a huge fan of the 3/4 length sleeve. When it arrived it was just a hair too small in the shoulder/arm area. I’ve mentioned before that while I’m the size of a Keebler elf, my upper body is kinda big because of years of weightlifting and well, I’m just broad through the back and shoulder area. This makes blazer/top/dress buying a tad tricky. I either have to buy too big and get things tailored or live with a bit of tightness as long as it doesn’t look bad. So I wore this to see if it was doable and took a back up cardigan in case it wasn’t. Lucky me…it has just enough stretch that it was actually comfortable and didn’t pull or bunch up at all. Yay! It’s a keeper. Good thing too because I built my outfit today around the blazer, and the cardi wouldn’t have been near as much fun as giant coral/orange roses.
Man, sometimes looking at the outfit shots at the end of the day is a dose of reality. Is my hair a hot mess or what?! I promise, just five minutes prior to these shots it was fabulous…damn humidity…ha! I’m thinkin’ hair clips and spin pins are in order for the rest of the week.

I think the shoes would’ve elevated the outfit, even with a plain old cardi, but I’m glad you’re keeping the blazer. I think we both have that broad shoulders problem. Is that what lifting weights did to me? Grrrrr… But yeah, practically all the blazers I own are snug around the shoulders and I’ve learned to live with it since I hardly ever need to button up in sunny SoCal and I’d rather live with snug than pay my weight in tailoring fees for a Forever 21 piece. ;p

I never ever button mine either…even in the frigid arctic tundra it becomes around here in the winter. And I so love this blazer that I’ll deal with a tiny bit of tightness. 🙂
