Going Home: Black Sheath Dress, Striped Blazer And Leopard Pumps

Yesterday was our first inservice day and Open House in the evening. I have to tell ya, going back up the hill (our school buildings are all on one campus and the ms/hs is “up the hill”) was like going home. Seriously. I know I’m not usually the sentimental mushy type, but it really was nice. I feel like I’m where I belong. Three years of my former students who are now teenagers or damn close to it, their parents, as well as so many of my friends made me feel so welcome. One of my closest friends whom I haven’t had the chance to spend near enough time with over the last several years is there, and it was like we fell right back into our groove together. All is now right with my world.
Okay, enough sentimentality. On to the outfit. I didn’t get any shots of this dress without blazer due to time constraints and the fact my camera has a hard time focusing on all black. (Weird, right?) The dress is actually gorgeous and fits like a glove. I scored it on a supremely awesome sale from the Venus catalog back in June. How supremely awesome? Ummm…$16! Ya, you read that right. So of course I also purchased it in burgundy. Two dresses for $32? Yes, please. The striped blazer and leopard pumps added some visual interest although the simplicity of the dress makes it perfect on it’s own.
One last thing. I promise you my friends, I will be making the rounds to all of your blogs this weekend. I’ve gotten really behind with responding to comments and paying all of you fabulous people the attention you deserve. My apologies.

Svelte and chic and I love the pairing of stripes and leopard! Now this look really makes me smile! Glad to hear about your homecoming – we need to talk because I, myself, am feeling the exact opposite and I need to nip it in the bud before it festers like a sore then runs…

This is a fabulous look. I love stripe blazer on top of the dress plus the leopard shoes are the perfect accessory.
