Lace Peasant Top & Fringe Booties: Things To Be Thankful For

lace peasant top, boyfriend jeans, fringe booties

First and foremost, I’m thankful for…

THE STORY

…my son’s AAA membership. What’s worse than locking your keys in your car? Locking your keys in your car two hours from where your spare set is. I have roadside assistance through my auto insurance, but guess where the card for that was? Ya, in my glove box. Inside my locked jeep. How did I discover my keys were locked inside my vehicle? I was looking in my purse for my antibiotic that I got from my dentist at Wednesday’s emergency dental appointment. Apparently it had fallen out of my purse in the car, hence I realized my keys were missing. So yes, I’m thankful for the mysterious gum/jaw infection of unknown origin that I currently have.

The important thing that I’m thankful for? The smile on my baby boy’s face yesterday because he and his boyfriend were hosting their first Thanksgiving and both families were together for the first time ever. They were both so happy which in turn makes me happy. The food was perfect and the table setting was beautiful. On a side note; he might be his mama’s boy, but he acquired some rogue Martha Stewart gene that he did not get from me because damn, that was one fine table setting, complete with cloth napkins and everything. I fold generic white napkins in half, toss ’em on the table and call it a day.

THE OUTFIT

I am so loving this luscious lace peasant top from Free People. I’ve been saving it for a special occasion and Thanksgiving fit the bill. Although something’s not quite right when I can wear this top, sans jacket, outside on Thanksgiving Day in NW Pennsylvania and not be freezing my ass off. I received it via Brandzaffair. If you haven’t heard of Brandzaffair allow me to throw you a few details. They are an online shopping site that includes a gazillion retailers and they kindly keep track of all of the most current sales/deals that each retailer is offering to save you the time of wandering through cyberspace looking for the best sales. Since Free People is one of the retailers they work with, I was all over this top.

Keeping with the boho vibe, the lace peasant top was perfect paired with my taupe fringe booties and super distressed boyfriend jeans. I kept the jewelry delicate and light since the top was enough of a statement on it’s own. Sometimes no third piece is necessary, this was one of those times.

THE TIP

When shopping online, I always check deal websites such as BrandzaffairShopStyle and RetailMeNot for deals and coupon codes. 9 times out of 10 I find the item I want at a lower price. Saving bucks is always a good thing my friends.

What a lovely story about your son and Thanksgiving.

Your key story reminds me of an episode during my childhood. My father (a cop) always claimed to be an infallible authority-figure who dictated to my brother and I. Once, when I was about ten, he and I went to a bowling alley. Not only did he lock us out of his car, it was still running! (Back then, cars weren’t automated.) He had to call my mother to come and get us. One of the few times he had to swallow some pride.

Wow, the copper color of the peasant top look amazing with your gorgeous ginger hair! I’m a ginger too, so I can appreciate how sometimes it’s difficult to find the right colors to wear. But you nailed it–such a striking look! Love the fringed boots too!

Ugh…that is the worst feeling! I’ve locked my keys in my car (and myself out of my house), so many times, I’ve learned to have spares EVERYWHERE! Such a cute outfit….hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
