Where else in the world do people take the word of a large varmint…
THE STORY
…in regard to future weather trends? Or have an actual “holiday” on the calendar named after what kind of amounts to a really big squirrel that chooses to live underground because he lacks the ninja like skills of his tree dwelling cousins? Yes, my friends, today that furry prognosticator presumably saw his shadow thus predicting an early Spring. Um, ya…since there hasn’t been a Winter yet, way to play it safe you wily whistlepig (betcha didn’t know that’s another name for a groundhog).
THE OUTFIT
Today I have sort of a girly tomboy who’s into Nirvana look going on. Nothing wrong with that; I love a good mix of girl meets boy. And what says “girl meets boy” more than a lace slip dress, serious neck candy and a flannel shirt? And since I’m wearing a tee shirt and leggings underneath, all I have to do when I get home is the remove my bra through my sleeve trick and bada boom bada bing…I’m ready for bed. It doesn’t get any easier than that.
Since the weather is apparently off its medication, dressing is a challenge again. It’s 20 degrees in the morning and 60 in the afternoon, so I dressed in layers that were easy to remove. I actually spent a good part of the day minus the flannel and seriously considered ditching the leggings too, but since the dress is pretty sheer and I wasn’t wearing a slip, no leggings was a no go.
THE TIP
Mixing masculine and feminine pieces is an easy way to add some fun to an outfit. You can go the literal route and snatch a shirt, sweater or even a tie from the hubby’s side of the closet or do it more subtly with a flannel shirt, boxy blazer, oxfords or Converse sneakers. Mix the masculine pieces with items with a distinctively feminine edge; think lace, tulle, or sequins.
