Little Black Hat (And A Dog Photo Bomb)

When I saw that this week’s Trend Spin Link Up was hats, well, I gotta admit I was out.  You see, I’m not a hat girl.  I don’t know why.  I don’t look bad in hats and I think other people look outstanding in hats.  I’ve never been traumatized in any way by hats nor by hat wearing individuals.  I guess hats just bug me perched up there on my head…I can’t explain, just another of my strange neuroses I suppose.  (That first paragraph was starting to sound rather Seuss-like, don’t you think?)
What changed my mind?  The other day I was eating lunch in my classroom, and outside my window I saw my stylish friend Jen was monitoring recess duty. She was rockin’ a cute little newsboy hat and I thought, “Hmmm…she looks so cute…maybe I should stop being a hat-averse freak and give it a shot.”  It just so happens I had recently bought my husband a new hat that he wasn’t particularly a fan of so I commandeered it and made it my own.  Fortunately, my husband has a rather extensive collection because now that I’ve seen photographic evidence that I don’t look all that awful, maybe, just maybe, I’ll try throwing some hats into my regular rotation.
As for the dog photo bomb…two of my four furry children kept strolling through the shots, so I figured I’d  just roll with it.  Today’s dog photo bomb is courtesy of Macie, our pug-a-bull. Yes, we made that up so we’d feel like we have a designer dog…

Style Tip:  Try something new, even if you’re afraid of it.  Taking risks is a big part of the fun of fashion.

Haha! You thought I look French and my husband thought I looked Irish! I’m definitely going to try working hats in more frequently.
