Missing Months And A Schedule Change: Kimono, Denim Shorts And Ankle Booties

Where did the summer go? No, really…where did it go? Was there some sort of glitch in the time/space continuum that the government is covering up? It was just June yesterday. And now it’s August. Something happened to June and July, they just kind of went missing. Why isn’t CNN covering this, or 48 Hours maybe? Two missing months is a big deal. Especially when the months in question are June and July. I wouldn’t be so concerned if January and February vanished without a trace. I truthfully might be tempted to pay someone to make those two go away.
I’ve decided that I think I’m going to do four posts a week instead of five. I’ve done that twice in the last three weeks and surprisingly the sun till rose the next day. I’m a bit OCD about things sometimes and I’ve had five days in my head since I started blogging over a year ago. I still enjoy and love it as much as I always have, but it is kinda nice to take a day off during the week. I’m just not sure which day yet. Probably Wednesday because that’s the middle of the week and it seems to make sense to me. I’ll get back to ya on that once I’ve decided for sure.
This kimono was a big hit on Instagram the other day. I mean it is pretty fabulous, right? And there is no more comfortable and effortless way to fancy up a pair of denim shorts and a white tee than a kimono. Speaking of denim shorts, this is the first time in three weeks I’ve worn them on the blog. Notice I didn’t say it’s been three weeks since I’ve worn them. Even if I go out in something else, I inevitably change in to one of my two favorite pairs when I come home. I’m a straight up casual girl at heart, in case you all haven’t guessed that by now.

I would give my eyeteeth for March to go away. Nothing ever happens in March. I tell the kids not to be surprised when Ms. Edwards goes mysteriously missing for three-day weekends in March; I save up all my sick days for that horrid month.

That kimono is covet-worthy and we should totally do kimono swaps! But I’m most in love with those boots. Tell me – o casual guru – would you wear this outfit to school? Coz it’s totally rocking!

That’s how I feel about Janurary/February…it’s like the dead zone. I would wear this if it was an inservice day, but for a regular school day I’d swap out the shorts for maybe skinny khakis or a pencil skirt.

I too would like those winter months to go away, thought it is better here in Charlotte than Pittsburgh. Love the peach kimono on you, looks great with your hair color. The shorts are very versatile and I like how you paired it with the cute ankle boots!

Yes, it is a beautiful kimono 🙂 Yeah, the sun still rises when you skip a day 😉 I wouldn’t be able to keep up with posting every day as things are now, but every other day works well for me anyway.

Wow! Your hair is gorgeous, girl. Love it! I have thought about going this color for awhile but I just got my hair to have an ombre style so I probably should keep this for a bit. Love this kimino on you! I need to get one for my fashion blog but I just haven’t found the perfect one yet. Glad I found your blog through the link up! Can’t wait to keep coming back and see all your posts! 🙂

That kimono definitely adds a touch of glamour to a basic outfit! And I’ve been slowly reducing my blog posts, too. I like to have a schedule though, I may stick with the M,W,F that I’m doing now…

I was thinking the exact same thing this morning: It was just the beginning of summer and now, suddenly, it’s time to start getting ready for the fall! I’m not really sure how/when that happened, but it seems to happen every year! Fabulous kimono! Those boots are going to transition SO well into the next season!
