Mistaken Identity: Lace Top, Distressed Skinny Jeans And Leopard Pumps

I read an article yesterday on Lucky Magazine’s Twitter feed. It was about this woman who has spent over $30,000 on plastic surgeries in order to look exactly like Kim Kardashian. She said she is deeply in debt now, but isn’t finished yet and plans on getting more work done. And she does indeed resemble Kim in a slightly disturbing something’s off kind of way. Umm…what?? I have no problem with plastic surgery or non-surgical enhancements. Hey, if it will make you feel more comfortable in your skin and you can afford it then I say go for it. Getting inspiration from others is cool, I mean really, that’s why Pinterest and fashion blogs exist. But why would you want to completely reshape who you are to look like someone else? It’s just so inherently sad. Unless you’re a top secret government spy who is going to be working under deep cover or an international criminal mastermind on the run, then maybe I can understand it. But not Kim Kardashian….pretty sure your cover would be blown.

This lace top doesn’t get to come out and play very often. It’s just too boxy for my liking. So when I do wear it, I usually go for the partial tuck. I’m just not comfortable with things completely tucked in. And the cut of the sleeves make it hard to wear under a blazer. These leopard pumps are my favorites. First of all, they’re leopard print, ’nuff said. And second, the heel height and shape is perfection. They’re solid to walk in and comfortable. Hence, my favorites.
One last thing. I’m super excited that today Lauren at Style Elixir has honored me with the title of Head Stylist. Seriously, I’m super pumped about it! So please take a minute to stop by and check it out. If nothing else, you’ll learn about one more weird phobia I have besides birds and gargoyles. I’m pretty sure I’d make a perfect case study for some world famous psychiatrist somewhere…

Such a pretty look Debbie. What a shame that this top is tough to style – the scallop hem is just so pretty. I read about this girl to – I just don’t get our society that is so obsessed with celebrities that really do not have talent.

It’s scary sometimes if you really think about the people that society holds in high regard…

Hrmmm…I don’t think you needed that half-tuck at all. Sometimes boxy s best, ya know? And paired with those fab jeans and heels, I bet you could get away with just letting the scallops fly free! ;p

Ha! Maybe I will next time. I just always worry about boxiness because between the girls and the broadness of my back/shoulders from weightlifting for a 100 years I sometimes think I look like a mini fridge!

Hi Deb! I like the lace top, I have that exact necklace, and those leopard pumps are the bomb! ( does anyone say that anymore?) I remember hearing about 10-12 yrs ago about a woman who had plastic surgery to look like Barbie! No joke. Yes, sometimes it is taken too far!

Its so sad when someone spends a lot of money of plastic surgery, I think it becomes addictive when you keep having it done. You’re wearing a couple of my favourite trends – lace and leopard print. I wonder if you could maybe pin it at the back so it isn’t so boxy and then wear a vest over the top to hide the pins? Just a thought! You still look great though.

Love me some lace and leopard! Actually, in the past I have use a brooch to tighten things up…don’t know why it didn’t occur to me!

I agree about the plastic surgery. I mean changing the whole look is way too extreme!
I love your shoes and top because lace and leopard print are two of the best.
