On Monday I scored what may well be the ultimate deal in my decades long shopping career…
And no, that is not an exaggeration. If they gave out Nobel prizes for shopping skills I’d win, hands down. There would be a parade, confetti, balloons…you get the idea. I was on the hunt to replace my current peep toe booties when I landed in the clearance section at JCPenney. This pair of little lovelies called my name and the sun shone down, the angels sang…they fit. They were on clearance for $17.99 which was a sweet deal to begin with since the original price was $70. I had a $10 rewards coupon to use so $7.99…um, hell yeah. But wait…the lovely girl at the register proceeds to tell me that I also have a $15 shoe rewards available to use as well. Wait. What?? That’s new. And awesome. So I decided to use that and save the $10 reward for another day. Total cost of the ankle booties, $2.99.
Oh, but it gets better my friends. I went home and couldn’t get the identical brown pair out of my mind. I obsessed over them; I knew I had to go back for them. Guess what? The next morning I received a 25% off coupon via text. So, ya, you know where I went. The brown pair now also reside in my closet, right next to their black sisters. The 25% off combined with my $10 rewards took them down to $3.49. What I’m saying in a rather wordy way is that I scored two pair of peep toe ankle booties for $6.48. See, best sale score EVER.
Here I’ve again put together two prints that one might not think would work together. Windowpane + floral. They are both bold prints so it could be a tricky pairing to pull off. Why do they work? I kept both prints in the same color family, in this case, black and white. That way there wasn’t too much going on at one time and the two prints work seamlessly together. I also kept the jewelry simple; just silver with no additional color to take away from the print mix.
