Pink Hi-Lo Sweater & Ettika Bracelet Stack: OMG Christmas Is Next Week

Pink hi-lo sweater, Ettika bracelet stack and gray pants. How to mix casual and professional style.

It’s that time during December when you smugly smile at your friends secure in the knowledge that not only is your Christmas shopping done, but the gifts are also wrapped and tucked safely away until Christmas Eve. Or…

THE STORY

…you smile smugly at your friends secure in the knowledge that you will unearth every single gift you seek at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve at a crowded mall. Or if you’re like me, you got off to a good start a month or two ago then slacked off and now you’re panicking because you are nowhere near finished.

Typically I am, for the most part, completely finished by now. Not the case this year. And yes, I am panicking just a wee bit. I’m thinking that a personal day is in order so that I can get my act together. I really can’t tell you how I went so far off the rails in regard to Christmas shopping this year. Somehow time just got away from me and bam…Christmas is next week.

THE OUTFIT

I can’t emphasize enough how much I’m loving this pink hi-lo sweater from Old Navy. I also have the same hi-lo sweater in blue…you know me and my multiple-buying habit. And since I’m having a pastel moment this season the colors were perfect. It’s sort of an odd sweater in that it’s warm and cozy, but the knit is open enough that a cami or tee is necessary underneath. That’s fine with me though since I typically layer anyway.

And what’s better with rose pink than gray? Hence, the gray slouchy fit pants. I could have gone the pumps route, but opted for Adidas because…well, because Adidas. Pumps would have definitely upped the professional look factor, and had I tucked in the tee and went with pumps that would have been full on professional. Me though? I like to throw in some casual with my professional.

Another thing I’ve been having a moment with recently is Ettika. I’ve acquired quite a nice little collection of their gorgeous boho inspired pieces. The thing I love most about this bracelet stack? The fact that it comes as a stack that’s what. While I’m all for creativity and originality, I’m also all for easy and it doesn’t get any easier than a pre-made jewelry stack. In the last couple of weeks I’ve been wearing pieces and/or the entire stack on repeat. The nice thing is the individual pieces fit in perfectly with bracelets I already have.

If you’re in need of a little retail therapy for yourself or if you’re looking for some last minute gift ideas for the women in your life, do stop by Ettika and receive 15% off your purchase by using the code @fashionfairydust at checkout!

THE TIP

If you work in an environment with a less restrictive dress code, consider mixing up your work looks with casual pieces. The easiest way to do that is to switch in sneakers in place of pumps. Sneakers work with dresses, skirts, pants…anything really. Another simple way to “casual up” a look is to simply leave your top half tucked as opposed to a full tuck.

I love high low hem line on everything! Skirts, dresses, blouses! And the combination of the pink with gray is so beautiful! I also love the casual relaxed boyish feel of the pants. Hope to see you tomorrow on Fancy Friday linkup!

Love this look! Casual is my go to, but I like to be comfy and stylish. You hit the nail on the head! I’m loving the pastels for winter as well and the light pink looks so good with grays. And I hear ya! I feel like every year I get further and further behind. I used to start my shopping in September. This year I didn’t get started until November and really had to work at it this past week and weekend. Oh well, it is what it is. When it’s all over, we will have loads of torn… Read more »
