Apparently I’m a closet Swiftie. So closeted in fact, I didn’t even know I was one until this weekend. What’s a Swiftie you ask? Your lack of knowledge is understandable if you don’t have a tween/teen girl in your world. A Swiftie would be a Taylor Swift fan…get it? My son and I took mini me to the Taylor concert in Pittsburgh on Saturday. The tickets had been her big birthday gift back in March. I wasn’t super pumped about going. I mean, I was looking forward to giving her an experience she would remember forever, but the thought of being locked in a stadium with 50,000 maniacal girls for several hours was not high on my list of things to do.
Can I just that it was literally one of the best concerts I have ever been to? No, I’m not kidding. It was. That girl has mad skills. I knew she was crazy talented, I was just never really into her all that much. I’ve always said the mark of a good musician is if they sound just as good live, and she did. Besides her musical skill, the actual show was insane; the effects were amazing. I haven’t seen anything that impressive since Pink Floyd back in the day. (Ya, think about that for a minute…) Maybe the coolest thing was the bracelets. When you first got there, each person was given a rubber bracelet with some sort of device in it. I had no clue what it was for, but played along. As soon as the music started the bracelets lit up. I kid you not, they were synchronized/programmed to light up with the music during the entire concert…it was a light show made up of 55,000 people…total awesomeness. I told my son that total awesomeness would’ve actually been if they handed those out at a Floyd concert back in the day…think about that for a minute…lol!
So, have you guys heard of Brandzaffair? I hadn’t either until recently. It’s actually a rather cool concept. There are a plethora of retailers assembled in one place; and I mean places I actually shop like Nordstrom, Forever 21, Old Navy and Target. The idea is to have your favorite stores all together for ease of shopping, kind of like a mall, but without the crowds and screaming kids. Brandzaffair also lists any deals or specials going on at the retailer you select which eliminates the extra step of researching deals yourself, which I always do. You simply click the link to the retailer and you are immediately redirected there from the Brandzaffair site. They also donate a portion of their profit to a charity of your choice which is always a good thing. I can honestly tell you, that since the offer to collaborate with them I’ve played around with the site and haven’t found any reason to not use it as a shopping platform; having all of the current sales/deals available in one place is reason enough for me.
This crazy fabulous plaid sleeveless tunic came c/o the fine peeps at Brandzaffair and I’m in love. Could a piece of clothing be more me?? It’s casual, comfortable, and um…plaid! It’s the perfect layering piece with denim shorts or jeans and it’s light enough to rock all summer long. I’m pretty sure the styling options for this are pretty much endless. The fringe sandals? They are the brown version of the black ones I’ve been wearing on repeat (here, here and here). I wore them Saturday while trekking all over the city and they passed the comfortable test so that’s a win in my book.
