Sequined Leopard: Sequin Top, Leopard Sneakers And Boyfriend Jeans

This was my “Let’s celebrate the end of weeks of standardized testing” outfit. I gotta tell ya, there are few things more soul crushing then watching a special needs child struggle through taking a state standardized test that is on grade level when said child is functioning several years below grade level. Ya, that’s why I became a special education teacher. To watch my kids try to do work that is so far beyond their capabilities they sometimes end up in tears. And to be told it’s against the law to help them with it in any way. I’ve always said that it would be kind of like giving me a test on the ins and outs of rocket science. Written in Russian. And expecting me to pass it at a “proficient” or “advanced” level. For those of you not from Pennsylvania, no, I’m not making any of that up. That is really and truly the way it is. Fun times.
Thus the need for sequins and leopard. Nothing will cheer a girl up quicker than leopard print and shiny things…well, at least this girl that is. I kept things all casual with the boyfriend jeans, cardigan and leopard slip-ons, and then tossed a sequin top and sparkly pendant in just to mix things up. Opposites attract, right?
Take a minute and click over to Clairejustineoxox.com where she has featured my water colored kimono post from last week. It really does a heart good when someone else appreciates your style/creativity/hard work and I am so happy that she chose me as one of her featured bloggers. I love her blog because it gives you a look not only at her life, but life in England. I’m not much of a world traveler so I love seeing how people in other parts of the world live. So stop by and check it out!

I’ve never been a fan of standardized testing in general–that sure doesn’t sound like a fun process for anyone involved! Your sequins are cheerful, though!

I find the whole concept to be ridiculous, but when you throw in the special ed angle it becomes absurd. Sequins do make anything a little better though.

Hard week – special needs teachers are a group of angels, working hard for small reward, bless you. Love your sequins, and thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.

What a beautiful color, your skin just glows! Does your top scratch the underside of your arms? I had a sequin tank top that I finally got rid of due to that very problem, but I’m wondering if maybe a different brand would be better?

Thanks love! It’s scratchy if I move certain ways, but not anything too awful. That’s the thing with sequins…they look fab, but they will never be comfortable!

Hmmm… I think I could use a pair of sequined top in my wardrobe. I love that you balanced this outfit with a more casual footwear

I love the warm color of your sequin top, Debbie. It looks lovely with your hair color. I too like to wear sequins as a lift-me-up during the day. The bronze shade of your top is also perfection with your animal print slip-ons which are so on-trend for spring.
