Striped Tee & Leopard Pencil Skirt: Under The Dome

striped tee, leopard pencil skirt

Have you ever watched “Under The Dome”? Or maybe read the Stephen King novel on which it’s based? I have to say, I’m just a little obsessed with it.

I’ve read the book and watch the show religiously every week (and maybe, just maybe, I’m reading the live tweets during commercial breaks). As I’ve mentioned before I’m waaayyy into anything even remotely apocalyptic in nature. A good end of the world movie will freak me out way more than a horror movie because in my mind it could actually happen. “Under The Dome” isn’t really end of the world per se, nor is it likely to happen, but it is seemingly the end for the people who live in Chester’s Mills. Storyline in a sentence: Some mysterious alien beings drop an impenetrable dome over the town one random day and there is no way anyone can get in or out; it’s kind of like some weird alien science experiment.

Now here’s some insight into how my odd little mind works. When I’m doing something mindless and my brain has the chance to wander, it does. Typically to a plethora of unusual places. I sometimes wonder what would happen if a dome suddenly dropped over my ‘hood and I was trapped inside with all of the yahoos within a 25 mile radius of me. Now there’s a terrifying thought. Truth be told, a lot of them probably wouldn’t notice anything different. Unless of course it came down right between their house and the woods where they do their deer huntin’. Or if access to Walmart was cut off; now that would be an issue.

This striped tee is the same as the black tee from Monday’s post except, well, um…it’s striped. The stripes make it a bit more useful if one is so inclined to mix prints like I do. Stripes are probably, at least in my opinion, the easiest to mix with other prints. They work with florals, plaid, camo; just about anything really. And the striped version is just as soft, drapey and perfect as the black one. And I may or may not have ordered it in white and gray when it was on super crazy sale with free shipping the other day. What can I say? I know a good thing when I find it.

OK so your hair is amazing!! And leopard and stripes is one of my favorite pattern combos!! I have never read that book but I have heard good reviews! I didn’t know it was a show too!! I don’t turn the tv on much during the summer but this sounds like a good one! Susan

I haven’t read the book or seen the show. It sounds good though! Stripes and leopard is always a great combo! Love your necklace!

I sooo need to get a leopard print skirt so I can try this combo. You rock it. I’ve ankle booties, DMs, trainers, dresses and a bag in leopard print but there’s a gap with a skirt. Gonna hunt one down this Autumn. I love the print of yours; it’s proper leopardy print loveliness. And oh dear, I have necklace envy too – that one’s stunning.

And thumbs up for buying the tee in other colours. If somethings works I often buy the same thing in other colours, especially shoes!

Haha, you made me laugh about the “yahoos” not not noticing! I think many people are in their own little “domes”. I saw some of it, hubby watched more. The actor from Breaking Bad is good! Love this skirt and with pattern mxing looks great on you,
Thanks Deb for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesday!
