Teacher Outfit

This is really more “teachery” than I normally am.  Some people might say I should look “teachery” every day in light of the fact I am a teacher after all.  And that’s okay, but following the norm goes against every fiber of my being.
I don’t dress inappropriately; I’m always mindful of the girls not being on display, I don’t show too much leg, I don’t wear graphic tees with inappropriate slogans or political statements, and I most certainly would never be caught dead wearing yoga pants to school.
That being said, I do march to the beat of my own drum.  I love fashion, and I have fun with it. Pretty much every day.  It makes me feel good, and I enjoy it.  If I don’t look like your run of the mill stereotypical teacher then so be it.  Just because I don’t wear a suit every day, have seven tattoos, and swear like a drunken sailor (umm…no, I don’t do that in the company of children) doesn’t mean I’m not a damn fine educator.  ‘Nuff said.

Style Tip:  What you wear should be an expression of who you are.  Don’t be afraid of that.

Blazer: Urban Outfitters (similar);  Pants: GAP (no longer available);  Blouse: Walmart (in-store purchase); Shoes: Rampage via Amazon (no longer available);  Necklace: Sassy Steals

I agree that your clothes should be able to communicate.

This outfit tells me you’re comfortable with yourself, artsy, funky and you know the rules but don’t play by them all the time.

There how did I do Teach?

Great ensemble Debbie. Thanks for the color advice. I am a bit scared and a bit adventuresome to do it and see how it comes out. I don’t have to do it for a few weeks still. yay!

Thanks Renae! It’s scary, but if you don’t live on the edge you can’t see the view!

It’s funny you say this outfit looks “teachery.” I probably wouldn’t have thought that, but because you said it, I can totally see why you’d say it.

That said, I’m not a teacher, but I love the outfit!! The blazer is awesome, the necklace is stunning and I can tell the pants are super comfy.
