Texture Mix: Multicolor Tweed Skirt, Cable Knit Leggings And Stripes

After being inspired by my friend Suzanne’s post on thrift shopping, I decided to hit up the local Goodwill store.  I don’t stop by there very often because it’s not very big and therefore the selection is limited.  I’m glad I decided to pay them a visit because I ended up leaving with this skirt and a really cool floral print sweater for seven dollars and some change. Not bad, right?  The funny thing is this skirt is actually brand new.  I had it in my cart at Target for months back in the fall and decided I just didn’t love it enough to spend $30 on it. The Goodwill must have come upon some overstock from Target because there were several of these skirts in different sizes with half of the Target tag still attached and as luck would have it, there was one in my size.  $3.79 beats $30 any day of the week in my book! I realize the point of thrift shopping is to find unique items, but I just couldn’t pass this up.
Since it is once again stupid cold thanks to the Alberta Clipper this time, I paired it with cable knit leggings, a long sleeve striped tee and v-neck sweater.  It didn’t hurt that the boots have fur lining either.  I thought the mix of texture and pattern made for an interesting look.  Once it warms up I can’t wait to pair it with my rosy pink tank and coral blazer though.

Linking up with:  Get Your Pretty On: I Feel Pretty.

Skirt: Goodwill:  Sweater: Old Navy (No longer available);  Striped tee: Forever 21 (Old);  Leggings: Walmart (Old);  Boots: Justfab (Old)

Score! : ) You will able to wear this skirt with so much. Funny that they got overstock from Target.

I hate that Alberta Clipper. It is FREEZING cold here too. I don’t think I can blame it on Alberta though. I just want winter to be over. Now.

I can’t wait to see the floral print sweater. I bet your hubby is happy that the $ is less than $10. Plus you are saving items from going into a landfill. All good : )

Thanks for the shout out.

Stay warm.

bisous
Suzanne

I used to do it a lot when I was younger, but kind of got out of the habit.

My local Goodwill has overstock items from Target too. This is such a classic skirt that I can see you wear that for years to come. I really like how you layered your top to keep you warm.

Yes, now that I have it, it probably would have been worth the price at Target. But the fact I got it for under $4 makes it all the better!

Cute leggings for women! I usually order mine from Hue.com but I’ll have to take a gander at our local Goodwill store!
