After being inspired by my friend Suzanne’s post on thrift shopping, I decided to hit up the local Goodwill store. I don’t stop by there very often because it’s not very big and therefore the selection is limited. I’m glad I decided to pay them a visit because I ended up leaving with this skirt and a really cool floral print sweater for seven dollars and some change. Not bad, right? The funny thing is this skirt is actually brand new. I had it in my cart at Target for months back in the fall and decided I just didn’t love it enough to spend $30 on it. The Goodwill must have come upon some overstock from Target because there were several of these skirts in different sizes with half of the Target tag still attached and as luck would have it, there was one in my size. $3.79 beats $30 any day of the week in my book! I realize the point of thrift shopping is to find unique items, but I just couldn’t pass this up.
Since it is once again stupid cold thanks to the Alberta Clipper this time, I paired it with cable knit leggings, a long sleeve striped tee and v-neck sweater. It didn’t hurt that the boots have fur lining either. I thought the mix of texture and pattern made for an interesting look. Once it warms up I can’t wait to pair it with my rosy pink tank and coral blazer though.
