If you haven’t figured it out by now, my brain works in peculiar and occasionally twisted ways. I purchased this fabulous necklace from Third Eye Warrior and just received it the other day. It’s no secret I have a thing for galaxy print (among other things) and when I saw this galaxy necklace I had to have it. Once I started wearing it, it reminded me of Men In Black, the original movie. The little alien inside the jeweler’s head tells Will Smith’s character that “the galaxy is on Orion’s Belt”. What he left out was Orion is a cat and the “belt” is his collar, and on the collar is a tiny pendant with a galaxy inside of it. So I guess this necklace is my ode to Men In Black. Hopefully scary government dudes with dark glasses and dark suits don’t come looking to confiscate it from me. That would suck.
The fab neon green shorts are from Boohoo.com. Love the color, love the drapiness, the waist band? Not so much. This is one of those times when the sizing is just absolutely off. I normally wear a small or medium on the bottom depending on what it is and where it’s from. I’ve never had a problem with boohoo’s clothes not fitting well, but when these arrived in a medium the drapiness was perfect, but the waist band was way too small so I traded them for a large. Guess what? Same tiny waist without much give so I have to wear them high wasted which I hate because a) I like thing loose and low on my hips and b) they remind me of Steve Urkel pants. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? As you know from the other day, I now have no tailor and ummm…ya, I can’t sew.
Gosh, I’ve got nothing for you on those shorts because a) I don’t do shorts and b) my first instinct was to scream “Tailor!” too and, yeah…I wish I could loan you mine because she’s all kinds of awesomesauce. :/
At least that necklace is totally cute, and so was the thought process behind it.
I like the hi-low hem of the tank. Sorry ’bout the fit of the shorts. I tried to create an outfit like this last week and it bombed so bad I hid the pictures. This looks better on you.
I often have problems with fit and friends suggest I learn how to sew. Wanna join me in that?!
But wouldn’t it be cool if the pug I think his name was Frank from MIB showed up? ; )
Well if it is elastic waist you can cut a small hole in the fabric around the band, sew on more elastic and then try to stitch it all back up. It could be a bit of a nightmare though and the shorts might become unwearable. But a great suggestion on my part don’t ya think? ; )
Love the referance to Men in Black. Your titles are great Deb, they catch your attention. The jewelry is pretty and your top is very colorful love. I like seeing neon, this color really works well on you. Have a great day! from the link up, jess
For a non-sewing or barely sewing solution, maybe you can unstitch or cut a small hole on the inside of the waistband and pull out the elastic. Then put a big safety pin on the end of a new longer piece of elastic. Scoot it through, then hand stitch the ends together. Or run a cord instead of elastic and drawstring/tie it. I hope you can save them, cause that color is blindingly wonderful!!!!!
