The Nightmare Before Christmas: Moto Jacket, Plaid Top And Boyfriend Jeans

It seems like every time I make the 35 minute drive to Target I see something along the way that is so utterly bizarre I have to write about it. As a matter of fact, my daughter told me the next time I don’t know what to write about, I need to cruise the route to the mall for inspiration.  If you’re doubtful, check out two of my previous adventures here and here. This time was no exception. I saw something that I’m pretty sure would be on the top ten list of most tasteless/horrifying Christmas decorations in America if such a list existed. This time I actually did pull off the road and snap a few pictures. Unfortunately, I wasn’t close enough to get a clear shot that I could post so a description will have to suffice. You know those white wire framed deer with the twinkle lights? Okay. Well, one of those was hanging from a basketball hoop by it’s back legs with red twinkle lights hanging from it’s throat and down to the ground in a “puddle” of blood. Ya, you read that right. I figure whoever lives there struck out during deer season so that was his ode to the deer that got away. Never ever doubt my accuracy when I say I live deep in the heart of redneck territory.
I finally found the secret to boyfriend jeans perfection. GAP sexy boyfriend jeans that are one to two sizes larger than your normal size. Yes, I understand the mental struggle many of us have in regard to “that number”, but if you’re looking for that just right amount of baggy slouchines in your boyfriend jeans then you just have to get over it. The way these fit, are in my mind, exactly how boyfriend jeans should fit. Not exactly figure flattering, but if a true slouchy boyfriend look is what you’re looking for you’ll need to leave the figure flattery to your skinny jeans. I’ll definitely be picking up a backup pair of these when they go on sale again because when you find that just right pair of jeans, it’s always wise to stock up.

I am in love with your top and shoes. Both are perfect for the Holidays! I know how much you love and wear plaid. Starting tomorrow I am showing several looks featuring plaid. It is Festive Plaid week all week long so welcome by. Also, I am co-hosting a Holiday-themed link-up today and it is good until Thursday. I would love for you to join it with this beautiful Holiday Outfit!

That hanging ornament story is awful. Why would people go to such poor, tasteless extremes?

Wow. Here in animal-loving territory, nobody could get away with that decoration.

I guess we really do have to believe that you live in red neck country, to funny and gross at the same time. Love this look and that is a great idea for BF jeans ( although I have found two pair at Old Navy that I adore .

Haha … that reindeer from the hoop … horrible! Yeegads! LOL. Anyway, your outfit is super! Okay I really need to try to find some truly slouchy boyfriend jeans and maybe I’ll try your trick and actually go up a size or two. Gap is usually my go to for jeans anyway, so I’m gonna give that a try.

I’ve always loved your hair, but I still feel the need to go on and on about how much I like your new LOB! You look grand in your new BF’s … still have a hard time making mine work. You’ve styled it so well that I need to spend some time looking at how you work this. Hmmmm. Love the shirt, scarf, but what really attracts is the equal “weight” of the moto and the substantial and still feminine heels. Something to think about here for me!Yikes to the sad deer ornament! I’ve seen some stupid, tasteless stuff, but… Read more »

I have everything from “x-small” to “x-large” hanging in my closet, dearest Debbie…those tags don’t mean a darn thing!! Great find you made with your new Gap boyfriend jeans; so cute next to the super-feminine, bow-embellished shoes!! P.S. I don’t think the slightly oversized fit of the jeans is unflattering at all…they’re just a bit more subtle about it, that’s all!! 😉
