The Official Farewell: Striped Dress, Cable Knit Cardigan And Black Ankle Booties

This is it folks~the official according to the calendar last day of summer. The autumnal equinox is tomorrow so today is the day to bid our tearful farewells to summer. In light of the fact today’s high is 55 degrees I don’t imagine I’ll be bidding it adieu in a bikini. Well, I suppose even if today’s high was 80, a bikini would be frowned upon at the middle school. So I’ll just have to say a quiet goodbye in my head and start mentally preparing myself for the polar vortex.
This outfit on the other hand, was acceptable middle school attire. I snapped up this dress a few years back on clearance at Target for somewhere around $10 or so. The cardigan is an official grandma cardigan…it once actually belonged to a real authentic grandma. I finished it off with ankle booties and some neck bling as per usual. Lately I’ve been going with either slip on sneakers or ankle boots because I’ve discovered that it’s not necessarily the heel height, but the width of toe area of the shoe that causes my foot the least pain. It unfortunately kind of limits my footwear choices, but no worries…I won’t be rockin’ velcro orthopedic shoes any time in the near future.

The cardi is the bee’s knees! I’d been thinking I needed more slouchy ones and this is another reason why I should act upon that need. Super cute ensemble! Btw, how’re you holding up with the spending fast? I think I might be going quietly crazy myself…

So sad to say goodbye to summer, but I equally love fall! This is a great dress – perfect for the transition and I imagine will look great with tights in the winter as well. Looking lovely as always! XO

You have to be the smartest and smartest looking teacher at your school. But the girls love what your wear! Your footwear choices are so good … no sacrifice of style, ’cause you rock whatever you put on your back. Hope there’s no Polar Vortex this year, but as mild a winter as our summer was! Just cold enough to wear our cool layers!
