JCPenney / leopard print coat / Old Navy / pink scarf / statement necklace / target

Tuxedo Stripes

This is one of those outfits, that in hindsight is just kind of  “ehh”.  Not awful, but definitely not some of my best work.  Why post it then?  Because the individual elements aren’t too bad and I do like it, but next time there are things I’d do differently.  I think an important part of a style blog, at least for me, is learning, experimenting, and having a good time doing it.  I enjoy looking at my outfits and learning from what I got right and what could be improved.
I love these pants. They fit really well and were a fabulous bargain, but I think they would have been better served with a different top. I also really like the checked flannel shirt and the pops of color from the necklace and belt.  I’m not a big fan of tucking in shirts or blazers with a lining. Both just make me feel uncomfortable and confined.  I’m wearing both together here, so I think that’s part of the reason I have mixed feelings about this look. I just wasn’t comfortable.  I think next time I wear these pants I’ll go with a pull-over sweater or sweatshirt or maybe a tee shirt and blazer.  A white blouse would look good too, but that might be too expected with these particular pants.
Last but not least, I wanted to include a shot of one of my two favorite winter coats.  This one definitely gets the most wear.  I had lusted over leopard faux fur coats forever, and when my husband got me one for Christmas two years ago I couldn’t have been more excited.  Not only do I love the print, but it’s also crazy warm. And that’s important since even though the polar vortex has hightailed it back to the North Pole, it’s still way too cold for my liking.

You are so right that it’s not about perfection but about learning and growing. Style is a personal choice, and all outfits, even those who consider “failures” are a part of a bigger picture. LOVELY outfit – at least to me.

It is very true that the whole point of fashion blogging is to better discover our personal style and enhance it. That comes from making mistakes, which we all make. Today I posted my least favourite looks from the past year. I always learn more from them it seems.

That leopard coat looks warm and fabulous!

I agree, I think we do learn more from our mistakes…in fashion and life!

I think if you would’ve simply worn a different color blazer, you would’ve been happier with the outfit. Looking at the picture with your fantastic coat, the blazer is covered and the outfit looks more interesting.

I too post outfits that I’m not 100% about. After all, I DID wear it. :o)
