Tweed Moto Jacket

I can’t decide if this jacket is more coral or red.  I guess it depends on the lighting.  In the pictures it looks almost pink.  Regardless of it’s apparent chameleon-like qualities, I love it! I saw it at Target last year and had to have it, but being the bargain beast that I am, I waited for it to go on sale and it was one of those times where I waited too long.  It was sold out in regular sizes, but there were still petites in stock for about $12. Who could resist?  I ordered it in two different colors and sized up since it was petite. I’m only 5’2″, but my back and shoulders are really broad so petites are iffy for me. Both jackets fit well enough through the shoulders, but were huge everywhere else.

I just took them to the seamstress for alterations a few weeks ago. I’m pretty lazy about going to the seamstress, so when I go I usually have a giant stack and spend a zillion dollars. Silly, I know… Anyway, I got them back and they are fabulous! I love how this one looks with jeans.  The color really pops and as you know if you are a regular reader, my favorite thing is mixing dressed up and dressed down.
Style Tip:  Find a great seamstress.  Even something inexpensive looks expensive when it’s tailored to fit you.

Jacket: Target (similar);  Jeans: Nordstrom;  Shoes: Target;  Necklace: JCPenney (no longer available)

Having clothes that really fit you can make such a difference!! Mostly I just need to learn to buy jeans that fit well–I always overestimate and they are big and baggy and won’t stay up without a belt!

Yep, good tailoring can make all the difference. Better too big than too small as far as jeans are concerned!

Oh shoot, I hit “publish” too soon! Forgot to say how much I agree with you on tailoring doing so much for an outfit! You look so polished with an edge.

I’m like you…I do the same thing at the tailors. I need to go again soon.

I love that colour, especially with the jeans.

Thanks Suzanne! It would be much less painful to the wallet if I paced myself with the tailor.

That jacket is beautiful with jeans! I like the zips 🙂

I always love how great my tailor makes things look – although like you I usually wait until I have a pile of things before I go in, haha.

Aren’t the zipper details fab? Why is it we wait so long?! Maybe it’s the whole “get dressed, get pinned, get undressed, get stabbed with a pin” thing!
