I saw something today that back in the day, prior to me becoming an enlightened fashion blogger, I might thought, “Umm…what’s happening there?”…
THE STORY
…An “enlightened fashion blogger”…I crack myself up sometimes. Anyway, walking into the grocery store I spy this older lady (yes, I suppose I’m an older lady, but I mean older lady) wearing what I believe to be every super bright print that she owned. Simultaneously. All in one outfit. There were brightly striped sneakers, a kind of neon mish-mash tribal print legging, flowery cardigan and a green striped canvas shopping bag. You know me, I’m all for a good print mix. But I ain’t gonna lie, initially I did start to think, “Ummm…” But I stopped myself because hey, if she was lovin’ what she had on then rock on sister.
And she was lovin’ it. How do I know? One indicator was the bright red silk flower tucked jauntily behind her ear as a finishing touch. The other was the spring in her step. She was feeling sassy; actually she was oozing sassy. And isn’t that what getting dressed should be all about? Feeling sassy and loving how we look? I tried to catch her to tell her that I loved all of the fabulous she was sharing with the world, but before I could cross the parking lot traffic she had bopped off in her riot of color surrounded by her cloud of fabulousness. I aspire to be bopping around surrounded by a cloud of fabulousness.
THE OUTFIT
If you read the blog with any regularity then you already know that I’m a huge fan of Grace & Lace. From their skirt extenders to the infamous lace flip vest, I’ve loved everything I’ve ever purchased from them. One of the things I love about them is it is family owned and operated business that started with a simple pair of leg warmers. They also donate a portion of every sale to build orphanages in India; in the summer of 2014 they opened two orphanages with an additional five more in 2015. So imagine my delight when Grace & Lace and I decided to collaborate together.
I realize that choosing the Two Fit Knit Cardigan to review in August may seem like a rather unorthodox choice in light of the fact they have so many cute tops and kimonos to choose from, but I couldn’t resist. And seriously, it is August. And what follows August my friends? That’s right…sweater weather. But how to style it in the heat of August? Fortunately, I’m a cold blooded creature by nature and any air conditioning will give me the chills. When the mister and I went on a movie date for our anniversary that was the perfect opportunity to sport the sweater in it’s cardigan form. The reason it’s called “two fit” is because like the lace flip vest it can be worn two ways. You simply lift the shawl collar over your head, slip your head through the neck hole and voila! It’s now a perfectly slouchy pullover. I know that several of you picked up the lace skirt extender during the Christmas in July sale, and I highly recommend grabbing one (or more) of these fabulous cardigans as well. Truth be told, after I received this one in the Coffee color, I snapped up another one in Heather Gray on my own dime. I can tell you with absolute certainty, they will be in heavy rotation this fall and winter.
I paired the two fit knit cardigan with a loose white tank top and my favorite boyfriend jeans. Something about a slouchy cozy sweater and boyfriend jeans gets me every time. Comfortable, cozy and cute. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, I wear the leopard wedges and I thought they were particularly right with this look.
THE TIP
I do a number of product reviews and only work with companies that I actually do or would shop from and I always give you my 100% honest opinion. With that being said, if you are looking for some new additions to your wardrobe, definitely check out Grace & Lace. Everything I have ever received from them is of outstanding quality and many items can be worn in multiple ways which gives you even more bang for your buck.
