This is an actual conversation I overhead at Walmart the other day while looking at the unusually cool selection of statement necklaces. Mind you, I couldn’t see the people because they were behind me. Woman says, “Oh, look at these things. The sign says ‘Make a statement’. What do you think, should I make a statement?” Man says, “Ya, if the statement is I’m a 90 year old woman with no taste. Walmart should have a special on full length mirrors so people can actually see what they look like before they leave the house.” So I casually shift my position so I can get a look at the Walmart Fashion Police. And you all know what I saw, don’t you? You’ve seen the “People of Walmart photos” right? Ummm…ya. Wow. A special on full length mirrors indeed. I picked up the fabulous little gem I’m sportin’ today, put it in my cart, smiled and walked away. To each his own, right?
These shorts are one of the pairs I bought at Target when my daughter and I went last month. I told you I’m trying to stop abusing the denim boyfriend shorts. The yoke on the front reminds me of the 80’s. I had several pairs of Hammer pants and skirts that had a yoke like that so I’m feelin’ kind of retro. I love the stripes, but I’m thinking if these were pants instead of shorts I might look like I wandered away from the circus and couldn’t find my way back. Since I haven’t mixed prints for awhile I tossed the leopard print blouse on over top. And what mixed print outfit would be complete without a bulldog graphic tee? I told my husband our other dogs are going to develop inferiority complexes because all of my dog tees are bulldogs.
**Kind of like a game of “Where’s Waldo?” if you look carefully in all of the full length pics you’ll find the actual bulldog…
You’re right about the shorts – had they been pants, even I would be hard-pressed trying to convince people I wasn’t a train conductor. Now, had it been a skirt… ;p
Loving the pattern mixing because you know that’s my shtick. I probably would’ve gone floral instead of leopard but I think we each have our own preferences in pattern, yeah?
Hi Deb! What did that man know anyway! I have that necklace. I got mine at Jewel Box, but I swear they are the same. Cool t-shirt! I need one with a couple shih tzus on it. You have a great smile. Love the combo of patterns too~ from the link up, jess please stop by http://www.elegantlydressedandstylish.com
OK those shorts are beautiful and wow from Wal Mart. I love that you are calling them Fashion Police Shorts. I am loving all these B+W Striped Shorts on all of my favorite bloggers. I swear yours are the cutest. Love that waist-line. With a Blue Tee and some Red Sneakers they would look perfect for a Casual 4th of July.
Happy Holiday by the way Debbie!! Always a pleasure stopping by. =)))
omg, you are so funny!! I am legit a recovering “people of Walmart” addict!! I assure you, pa has got nothing on some SC goodness!! we really know how to show up in style down here!! on the flip, you found some goodies!! I love this look! I wore the reverse, leopard pant/stripe top last week and the hubs was totally dogging on me, but I say leopard and stripes are always a win!!
