At the end of August I had to have the windshield replaced in my Jeep. For the first time in my rather lengthy driving career I got hit with a rock while going down the road minding my own business. It split an immediate crack from the passenger side to the middle of the windshield. The weird thing was it wasn’t just one rock, but two, one right after the other. Needless to say, I was not exactly pleased.
Now here’s the really weird thing. On Monday, my husband and I were on our way home from Pittsburgh and I kid you not, my window gets pegged with another rock. And the San Andreas Fault opens up down my windshield. W.T.H.?? What are the odds that never ever in some thirty-three years of driving I never once had a broken windshield and now I’ve had two in three months? While it’s true the window was broken through no fault of mine own, I felt like a total wienie calling our insurance agent and telling him that yet another geological disaster had befallen my poor Jeep.
I have been having one of those completely uninspired weeks in the fashion arena. You know when you have a run of days where no matter what you decide to wear to work, it just looks awful, even if it really doesn’t? I like to think of it as hormonally induced clothing dysmorphia. How’s that for a cool made up term? Throughout our house there are a number of randomly discarded items of clothing that I tossed aside while in a frenzy to find something I at least felt human in. In light of the situation, I’ve tried to stick with my tried and true pieces that I feel comfortable in no matter what. These camo pants always work and a graphic tee is a no-brainer for me. I added the blazer to dress it up and the leopard pumps for some visual interest. And this my friends was as good as it gets.
