And So We Begin Again: Tribal Print Maxi, Graphic Tee And Black Sandals

By the time many of you read this I will be back at it for the first official day of school. With kids whose ages are in the double digits. And who hopefully won’t hand me papers that are wet. What’s that all about anyway? That was one of my top pet peeves in the elementary. I mean seriously, if a child hands you an assignment that is moist you really only have a limited number of options. And none of them are good. Yuck.
I know I’ve said it before, but I’m super pumped to go back to work this year. I haven’t felt like this for, oh I don’t know, maybe a millenia. I know eventually the excitement will wear off, but I’m gonna ride the wave for as long as it lasts.
No, this is NOT my first day of school outfit. I push the limits on occasion, but I’m not stupid. Pretty sure the tee would fall under the “not school appropriate” category. You get to feast your eyes on the first day outfit on Thursday. Or if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll get a sneak peek tomorrow. I wore this last week when I took my mini-me to finish up some last minute school shopping for her. It was comfortable and cool, which is necessary right now because if it’s not raining it’s crazy humid. And my favorite thing about it? The skirt has pockets. Who doesn’t love a skirt with pockets? Come on, you can hide stuff in there or walk around all slouchy-cool like with your hands in your pockets. It will definitely be making a work appearance at some point, but paired with a blouse or sweater and maybe some fab ankle booties. All it takes is a little tweak here and there to take something from casual to work appropriate.  But I’ll still slouch around with my hands in my pockets pretending I’m uber cool.

Ha! Cute outfit! Love the t, you mean you couldnt wear that to school? Would they send you to the princapals office? lol.Love the skirt, very tribal and a cool pattern with the birks. Glad you are enjoying time back at school. I did teach kindergarten for a year, and although I loved the kids, I needed more mental stimulation. Middle school is a tough age, so I enjoyed really working with 4th graders in music.

Perhaps not for the first day at school, but sure captures the feel of the season! Never thought I’d say this but I like your Birkies. That was almost painful, but true! You look cute, and your shirt is the best. For wearing on Friday afternoons when the school year has lost some of it’s early excitement … may that not happen at all this year! Good to have a realistic expectation of dry homework papers, I agree.
