I have been sporadically MIA recently and for that I apologize…
THE STORY
…However it is for good reason. Since butterflies are one of my favorite things, I like to compare where I’m at right now to the pupal stage of butterfly metamorphosis; on the outside it doesn’t appear that much is happening, but on the inside a whole lotta change is going on.
As much as I love the blog and I love creating content, I also love to learn. I have been immersing myself in a plethora of online trainings and courses as well as reading multiple books of both the business and self-improvement variety. I’m growing and learning and absolutely enjoying it, but as such there’s simply not enough hours in the day to do all of that and take photos and edit them, or research content and write posts.
Over the next few months I know the inconsistency will continue, but hopefully you’ll all bear with me. Sure, I could do several substandard posts a week to ensure that I’m still producing content, but I’m better than that and all of you deserve more than that. My learning and personal growth is the priority at the moment, but the blog and all of you matter too, so know that when I do post whether it be twice per week or twice per month, you’re getting quality content.
And I can live with the inconsistency for awhile without too much guilt since I know it’s with good reason. I have goals, big ones, both personally and professionally and since the professional goals are 100% blog related a bit of sacrifice on the front end will be more than worth it in the long run. And just like a butterfly emerges from the cocoon an entirely different creature ready to spread its wings, I too will be ready to fly.
THE OUTFIT
Today’s outfit tells the story of the winter that never really was. When Shelly chose “Spring Ahead” as this months Ageless Style Link Up theme I knew it would be no problem since we never, you know, actually had a winter here in NW Pennsylvania. Believe it or not, I wore this outfit comfortably back in January; by comfortably I mean that I wasn’t freezing my butt off while taking these shots.
In any case, this blush open cardigan is perfect for anytime of the year, but is especially good for ‘tween times. It’s cozy, but not too cozy, it’s comfortable and the soft open-weave knit is perfect for when you want to be warm without having a total core meltdown. I have this particular cardigan in four colors total, for those exact reasons; a lighter weight cardigan is really the perfect piece to span the seasons.
Here I have it layered over a cotton/gauze peplum tank top that never went into winter storage because I knew it would work all year ’round. Both pieces are layered over top of one of my rare pairs of non-ripped jeans and finished off with my fringe booties, all together making the perfect almost, but not quite spring day outfit.
THE TIP
Cardigans are a wardrobe staple no matter what the season. Chunkier knits and cozy chenille are perfect for fall and winter, but lighter weight and loose weave knits make just right layering pieces all year ’round. A lightweight open front cardigan is especially good for transitioning between winter and spring, and works in the summer as well to ward off air conditioner induced shivers.
