I said on Monday that my goal this week was to avoid spontaneous combustion…
Obviously, I did since you’re not looking at a photo of a pile of ash, but I can tell you I’m a big ole’ hot mess. My hair was down until about 8:15; I knew it was going to be hot in my classroom, but dannngggg. Being shut in a room on the second floor with a bunch of adolescents, no air conditioner, 90 degree heat and a gazillion percent humidity is a super special kinda hot. I’m pretty impressed with the fact I was able to patch up the makeup enough when I got home to take these shots. Because seriously my friends, this sweet little boho dress/skirt extender combo could not go unphotographed.
The boho dress itself is too short on it’s own and at this point leggings are out of the question. Hence, my fruitless search for a slip a few weeks ago. But after some searching I found this gorgeous and absolutely perfect skirt extender/slip. It’s going to be getting a lot of play under tunics during the winter, but honestly, it was like a match made in heaven with this dress. I highly suggest adding a few to your wardrobe because the added wear you’ll get out of too short dresses and skirts will be well worth it. I can see this piece adding a little extra something to a dress or skirt even if it isn’t too short. I’m actually planning on picking up a black and an ivory extender with lace in place of the tulle. I added the denim vest as a third piece, but only because I wasn’t covered enough on top for work without it. Trust me, if the shoulders didn’t have to be covered, there’s no way I would have added the equivalent of a thermal blanket over the dress.
Take a minute and stop by for a visit with the always stylish and handsome Terry over at Terry’s Two Cents where he and I played a game of twenty questions…he asked and I answered. C’mon….you know you want to know about my childhood obsession with Tony Orlando and Dawn….
