Today might be the first day of school and I may or may not be burning whipped pumpkin cream candles in my house, but don’t kid yourself into thinking Fall has arrived…
As always, and I mean always; this has never not happened, this is the first week of school and the temperatures are supposed to range from 86 to 90 degrees this week. And my building hasĀ no air conditioning. You read that right…no air conditioning. So the challenge over the next couple of weeks is going to be putting together outfits that are work appropriate and that won’t cause me to spontaneously combust.
This is an outfit I wore a few weeks back. I tend to wear my Birks every day, so I wanted to give the leopard wedges a chance to come out and play. Since red is one of my favorite colors to pair with leopard print, I went with the red shorts. This is a pretty basic look, nothing fancy going, on so I used the sandals to give it a little something more. Converse or Birks would have worked as well, but the visual interest wouldn’t have been there.
Last year I dabbled in wearing socks with sandalsĀ and I’ve decided that these leopard wedges are perfect for trying the look again. In my opinion, the socks with sandals look works best when you go with a more substantial sandal. Since these have a solid zip-up back and thick straps I think they’ll work really well with socks. But not until the temperature drops below 70 thank you very much.
