Well my friends, it’s that time of year again…
THE STORY
…IEP season that is. Those of you in the crowd who happen to be or know a special education teacher know what I’m talking about. It’s that time of year that we are buried under a veritable mountain of paperwork with parent meetings scheduled for days. This year add to that this weekend is my baby girl’s first Homecoming dance. We have appointments and things to do all week; hair (actually two…one trim and then a styling appointment the day of the dance), nails, a practice makeup run. Then there’s the game on Friday with pictures, dinner and the dance on Saturday.
It’s a beyond busy week and because of that the story today is no story. In all likelihood this will be the only post this week (same as last week because that was when the IEP writing originally commenced), so bear with me and I promise I’ll get things back to normal next week!
THE OUTFIT
When Shelly came up with this month’s Ageless Style Link Up theme I could not have been happier…”Your Favorite Fall Colors”. I was excited because Fall is my season. As in, if I were queen of a season, Fall would be my kingdom. Not only do I love all things Fall, I also love all of the colors most associated with it. They all play well with my hair and skin tone so I can’t choose just one favorite. I suppose you could say that my favorite color is Fall.
The awesome thing is that this gorgeous burgundy boho print dress that arrived in my latest box of goodies c/o Caite & Kyla actually has a mix of every single one of my favorite cool weather shades. It’s predominantly burgundy, but there is rose gold, mustard yellow and navy blue all intermingled in the print.
Since it was cool outside I layered my burgundy waffle knit cardi from JCPenney over top. Coincidentally for last month’s link up I wore a similar cardi in mustard yellow. I’ve kinda gotta thing for waffle knits so I imagine you’ll be seeing a lot more in the coming months. The dress was easy to layer over because even though it’s all sorts of Fall-licious, it’s still lightweight which makes it the perfect layering piece. The next time I wear it I’m planning on trying it layered over a pair of skinny jeans which I’m certain will be super cute.
THE TIP
Find the colors that work well for you. Yes, I wear most colors, but I know that I typically look best in the warm colors of Fall. Wearing colors that you love is a surefire way to feel as fabulous as you look.
