I don’t know how it happened, but the holidays are most definitely upon us…
THE STORY
…It just seems as if time goes by so crazy fast, doesn’t it. With that being said, like many of my fellow bloggers, I’m going to take a little bit of time off from the blog. Not long, I’ll be back in the next week or so. It’s just that time of year to step back, take a breather and spend some time with the people I love.
Before I take a break though, I did want to share with you this really fabulous camera accessories shop I discovered through one of the publicity agencies that I work with. It’s called Mod, and it was founded by a mother/daughter team back in 2009. When the offer to apply showed up in my inbox I wanted it bad. The straps are so unique and beautiful (and all made in the USA) and the Mod camera bag line is gorgeous; they could easily be mistaken for a handbag. Needless to say, I was pumped when I was chosen to collaborate with them.
I chose the Luxe Camera Bag as well as the Silver Victorian Strap and they did not disappoint. The bag and strap are both so well made; the construction is solid and you can tell they are high quality. What I love most about the camera bag is the fact that it does not look like a camera bag; it truly does look more like a handbag. Oftentimes when we are out and about I default to taking photos on my phone simply because I don’t want to lug around my camera bag and a purse. Since this camera bag is so pretty and has movable dividers as well as a zippered interior multi pocket organizer it can do double duty as a camera and handbag which in my book is pretty awesome.
And seriously, how gorgeous is the strap? It’s a silver silky print with the prettiest little satin/tulle flowers attached. It’s simultaneously gives off a girly girl/bad girl vibe and I love that. What’s not visible, but is super important to mention is the underside of the strap. It is lined with a super soft fluffy material that doesn’t feel scratchy on your neck like most camera straps. I quite honestly cannot say enough good things about both the Mod camera bag and the strap. If you happen to be on the market for new accessories for your camera or, if like me, you don’t like toting around both a camera bag and a handbag you’re definitely going to want to check out Mod.
THE OUTFIT
I wore this same blue sweater a few weeks ago to the ballet, except on that outing I wore it off the shoulder as it’s intended to be. But as you can see here, it can be pulled up on both shoulders so that it’s work appropriate too.
I paired it with my white skater skirt quite honestly because I haven’t worn the skirt since I lost the extra poundage and wanted to wear it. I really like how the pop of cobalt from the sweater plays off the basic black and white combo on the bottom. Since it was obviously cold out, I went with both dotted sheer tights and over the knee boots to keep the gams warm while still looking stylish.
THE TIP
Just because the temperatures dip don’t fear wearing shorter skirts. Simply pair them with tights and/or over the knee boots to keep yourself warm while still showing some love to your skirts throughout the Winter months. Also, on days when your skirt is shorter, make sure your coat is longer for an additional layer of warmth.
