Leopard Print Skirt & Freebird Boots: A Little Incoherent

Leopard print skirt, Freebird boots & graphic tee.

As is typical of this time of the year, I’m sitting here staring blankly at the blinking cursor on my screen…

THE STORY

…No, it’s not writer’s block this time. It’s the beginning of the freakin’ school year. As of this moment I’m just about at the end of the second week of school and my friends, I am well and truly brain-dead.

As I’ve mentioned before, I do prefer having a regular schedule and somewhere to be as I tend to be rather aimless without structure. With that being said, after existing at a leisurely pace for three months, going back to work literally sucks the life out of me. I’m exhausted physically and mentally. I don’t yet have my school year groove back.

It typically doesn’t take too long to get myself back with the program, so until then, please be patient. I promise there’s the usual plethora of bizarre stories and observations flitting around inside my head, and as soon as I’m once again able to form a coherent thought I’ll be sure to share them with you.

THE OUTFIT

Just a few weeks back I wore a silky swishy leopard print skirt, but it was ever so slightly different than this one that is from the Who What Wear line at Target. Why two satin leopard skirts? First of all, um, it’s leopard which I love. Second, I love soft satiny floaty skirts. And finally, they are actually totally different looks.

The previous skirt was definitely a midi-length skirt. This one on the other hand is more of a maxi skirt. Actually it’s actually a midi skirt, on me it’s definitely a maxi. On an average sized female human it would indeed be a longer midi-length, but on us vertically challenged ladies it works as a maxi.

Today I paired it with a graphic tee and my most favorite Freebird ankle boots along with a western belt for some added interest. I love that the length along with the satiny material and interesting asymmetrical hemline make this skirt super easy to style so many ways. It would be beautiful with a pair of pumps, a dressy top or sweater and sequin clutch for a night out. It’ll also be perfect in the Winter months paired with a chunky knit sweater, tights and over the knee boots.

THE TIP

Finding a maxi skirt or dress that isn’t miles too long can be super challenging for petite women. If you are more elfin sized like me, try a regular sized midi-length skirt or dress and you just might discover the perfect length maxi.

Like this look for you. Very flattering. You are much shorter than I am and petite. I am more giantess than elf. You are also far more adventuresome in your clothing choices. I admire your unique style and although I can’t emulate it, I like to add touches to my more tailored style. I will not dare a leopard maxi skirt, but I will add an animal print scarf, bag or shoes after reading your post. I wasn’t brave enough to add pink to my hair, but I did get some light highlights in my red . So your influence… Read more »

Fabulous skirt! I also love the edgy shoes, great cool look. I love a leopard print and now I am inspired to wear my leopard print skirt with my biker boots!

Adorable look, Debbie. Can one have too much, leopard? I have two pencil skirts and while they are similar they still give outfits a totally different look. No worries on the lack of stories. You have a lot to think about during these back to school weeks. My husband and I have the same issue as he is a professor and I work at the university bookstore. Things have slowed down now, but I was exhausted too! Have a great weekend. – Amy

LOVE this skirt, Debbie! In fact, I think I might even like it more than the previous one! Love how you’ve styled it too.
I hope your braindeadedness (! lol !) sorts itself out soon enough!
