THE STORY
…My teeth have had issues pretty much ever since I exited the womb. No matter how well-taken care of they’ve been, I’ve had a plethora of dental work; fillings, root canals, crowns…you name it, I’ve had it done. I once joked with my dentist that he should give me a punch card for root canals so that I could get the next one free. To top it all off, I also have insanely sensitive teeth. So sensitive in fact, that when I’m having dental work done my dentist has to cover my other teeth with little gauze “blankets” to protect them from the rinse water and draft that’s stirred up by the drill.
I’ve never before tried an electric toothbrush, in part because I feared that it would be too aggressive for my sensitive teeth. After using the toothbrush for several weeks I’m happy to report that my hesitance was unwarranted.
The cariPro Toothbrush has five different settings: clean, white, massage, gum care, and sensitive. Obviously I typically use the sensitive setting, but there isn’t any one setting that is too aggressive on my teeth. As a matter of fact, it kinda tickles…lol! Once you turn on the selected setting, the brush runs for two minutes broken down into four thirty second cycles. There’s a brief shut-off between each cycle to remind you to start brushing a new quadrant of your mouth. My teeth have never felt as clean as they do now…it’s comparable to that squeaky clean feeling you have when you leave the dentist’s office after a professional cleaning. THE OUTFIT
This outfit is a super simple boho look. It would actually be the perfect starter outfit for someone who just wants to dip their toe into boho style. I started with a basic foundation; black leggings and black over the knee boots. A subtle bohemian style tunic/dress is an easy way to add some boho flavor without fear of going over the top. On a side note, I know that I’ve expounded before on the benefits of wearing over the knee boots, but I’m going to do it again.
Initially I was hesitant, but now I wear them all of the time once the weather cools down. They work perfectly with jeans, skirts, dresses and leggings like I’ve done here. They add a little hit of edginess and chic to any look, they visually lengthen your legs, plus they provide an extra layer of warmth. They come in a wide range of sizes to fit just about any calf. Although I’m elfin-sized, I have super muscled calves so I always have to make sure to find a pair with a little bit of extra room, especially if I want to wear them with skinny jeans.
I’ve also come around to love leggings more than I used to. No…I still don’t necessarily think that they are pants, but to each their own I suppose. I do however wear them a whole lot more than I used. Up until the last few months I wore them strictly around the house. I find myself reaching for them more and more often. In fact, the three black pair that I’ve had for a few years did still look brand new until recently. They’re starting to get that faded look that darker pieces often do and will have to be replaced soon.
THE TIP
An easy way to try boho style without risk or a major financial commitment is a boho print/style tunic or top. It can be paired with pieces already in your closet. Think jeans, leggings, boots or booties. They also work well with a cardigan or duster layered over top.
