Pink Boho Maxi Dress & Duster: Friday With Friends

Pink boho maxi dress, duster & otk boots.

One of my favorite things about blogging is the opportunity I’ve been given to meet women I otherwise would have never had the chance to interact with…

THE STORY

…I love to collaborate with other bloggers. We get the opportunity to know one another a little bit better, our blogs get more exposure and it gives all of you the chance to meet and connect with a blogger that you may not already be familiar with. Whenever a connection is made, that allows us to expand our tribe and that is always a good thing.

So when Tania from 50 Is Not Old contacted me about being a part of her “Friday With Friends” series, I was immediately all for it. She came up with the idea because one of the things that she has learned about blogging since she started her blog in 2015 is that it’s super beneficial to be introduced to a potentially whole new audience by another blogger. She wanted to pay that favor forward and thus, “Friday With Friends” was born.

Like many of us, Tania is a regular everyday woman who loves sharing her passion for affordable wearable style with like-minded readers. Tania describes her style as “classic meets trendy”. Tania is a small town girl from Virginia and she’s very active in her community. She’s a wife, mother and grandmother of four who believes that just because a woman reaches a certain age that doesn’t mean she should simply let herself go. Like myself, Tania also likes to include stories about her daily life, her childhood, her technology challenges and any other topic she finds interesting. I’m sure many of you are familiar with Tania, but whether you are or not, definitely stop by 50 Is Not Old and share the love!

THE OUTFIT

How pretty is this pink boho midi dress that I found at Target last week? Even though it’s about maxi length on me, it is actually a midi dress. Some of my best maxi’s are actually midi’s for regular sized babes. It’s also actually a strappy sundress and it’s the perfect amount of lightweight and flowy for Summer. While it is sunny and much warmer now, it’s still in no way Summer. With temperatures in the 50’s, some creative layering was definitely needed to wear this dress now.

I wanted to give my velvet duster one last go ’round before it gets too warm to wear it and lucky me, the blue color perfectly picked up the shades of blue in the floral print of the dress. I used my typical “keep my legs warm without tights” trick for this look; over the knee boots. Although my black otk boots would have worked, the taupe shade kept the look lighter and more Spring-y then black would have. I’m currently all about Spring…I’m so over Winter I can’t even tell you, so that means everything I’ve been wearing has to be Spring-ified in some way. Whether it be the print, the color or the style my brain needs some warm weather style even if I still have to layer up to stay warm.

THE TIP

Don’t pack your otk boots away just yet…they are the perfect partner for pretty Spring dresses when we aren’t yet feeling the pretty Spring temperatures.

Love the dress, ADORE the duster! And perfect with the OTK boots. We shorties have to be so resourceful – ankle pants on me mean I just don’t have to hem them, and a mini can be regular length, like your midi-into-maxi.

That is the advantage of being short, Debbie. Even the cropped jeans are then regular length on me!!
I just love that duster!! It’s such a royal color!!
Have a fabulous weekend,

The dress is just darling! I love the paler pink, it looks so springy. Good pairing with the velvet–hopefully, you won’t need the extra warmth for long, I’m seeing sunshine in those photos!
