First of all, we do not currently have this much snow. There is snow, but not like this…
THE STORY
…I took these shots a few weeks back when we had a snow day due to well, all of this snow. I’m not much for cold snowy weather, but it does make for beautiful photos doesn’t it?
Speaking of beautiful snowy whiteness, I recently was offered the opportunity to try an all natural teeth whitening product from Carbon Coco. I was immediately intrigued because I have insanely sensitive (and really bad) teeth and have always been afraid to try to whiten them due to the sensitivity and vast amounts of dental work that I’ve had. And believe me, since I spend a good part of most days drinking coffee, they could use a good whitening my friends.
The primary ingredient in Carbon Coco’s tooth polish and toothpaste is, believe it or not, activated charcoal. My current favorite face wash is also activated charcoal based and I love how clean my face feels after using it. Like apple cider vinegar, activated charcoal is currently having a moment. As we all know though, just because something is “having a moment” that doesn’t mean it works.
So, do the Carbon Coco’s products work? Yes! I’ve only been using both the polish and the toothpaste for a little over a week and I have seen a definite improvement in my teeth. Are they super dazzling white? No. But I didn’t expect them to be, because as I said earlier, I have always had problematic teeth and they are naturally slightly discolored. With that being said, they are noticeably whiter though. And they feel unbelievably clean as well.
The tooth polish is a finely milled powder blend of Organic Coconut Activated Charcoal with a hint of Bentonite Clay and Lemon Myrtle, which makes it much gentler than the brands found in health food stores. You simply dip your damp brush into the powder and brush for 2-3 minutes. That’s it! I’m not going to lie…it is messy. If there is a downside to this product that would be it. I have figured out a workaround in regard to the messiness though; I simply use the tooth polish while I’m in the shower. That way the messiness isn’t an issue; it goes down the drain as opposed to on my sink and/or clothes. It is recommended that you use the polish nightly for 14 day cycles. As I said, I’ve only been using it for about a week and have seen a marked difference already.
The toothpaste is also black, although it’s not at all messy. It’s minty and works just like regular toothpaste. Once you start brushing it foams up grayish white…just spit and rinse like regular toothpaste. I received the Ultimate Carbon Kit to review, and along with the tooth polish and paste it included a toothbrush with bamboo bristles which I also love. The bristles are soft (but not too soft) and they’re black which just makes it cool looking and unique.
Carbon Coco is an Australia based company, but they offer free worldwide shipping which is awesome. They also offer a Love It Or Leave It Guarantee, so if after 14 days you haven’t seen results you can return the products for a refund. I can’t promise that Carbon Coco products will work for you, but I can tell you that when I run out of the tooth polish (which will be awhile because you get a lot of product in the container) I will definitely be purchasing more. If you have sensitive teeth like me, or if you’re just interested in going the all-natural route, I highly recommend giving Carbon Coco a try!
THE OUTFIT
There is really nothing special about today’s outfit. It’s simply a cute, casual, comfortable everyday outfit. Like I said, the day I wore this was a snow day. Who wants to get all fancy schmancy on a snow day? Not this girl.
Since pink is kind of my thang (and so are sweatshirts), I had been on the hunt for a pink off the shoulder sweatshirt forever. When Santa bestowed this beauty upon me I couldn’t have been happier. Not only is it pink and off the shoulder, it has bishop style sleeves which is just a fun and different detail for a sweatshirt. The blue and burgundy ruffle sleeve sweatshirts that I wore a few months ago are also a step above the usual sweatshirt due to the cute little ruffles on the sleeves.
The Bearpaw Phylly Boots that I’m wearing also have a fun little detail; they tie up the back. That makes them a little more interesting than your typical winter weather boots. The gray color also makes them wearable with so many things.
THE TIP
Super casual does not have to mean boring. Choose casual pieces with fun details to keep your off duty looks fun while still being comfortable.
