Here it is, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…
THE STORY
…the finale of the Spring Skirt Series brought to you by myself and my fabulous friend Linda at A Labour Of Life! Okay…maybe you haven’t been actually waiting for it, but here it is nonetheless and I hope you enjoy checking it out as much as we enjoyed working together on the collaboration.
We started the Spring Skirt Series back in March with our own personal interpretations of how to style a leather skirt, and as you can see both Linda and I put our own unique spins on it. Then in April we were back for round two with everyone’s favorite, the tulle skirt. On this go ’round even though no prior consultation had taken place, Linda and I actually took it in the same direction with black tulle and a graphic tee…great minds, am I right?
One of the things that I love about blogging is a good collaboration with a blogger friend or two. Linda and I’ve been palling around the blogosphere for years now and a collaboration was inevitable, especially considering our mutual admiration of the infamous Sheldon suit that Linda covered so well in this post. Alas, all good things must come to an end and today brings us to the close of our Spring Skirt Series. Who knows…perhaps there’ll be a Fall Suit Series on the horizon…
THE OUTFIT
The final skirt option that Linda and I decided to style was a striped skirt. Striped skirts are both versatile and easy to style whether it be a longer flowy version like mine or a shorter pencil style like Linda’s. I absolutely love everything about Linda’s look! From the fun graphic tee, to the hit of print mix, to the plaid shirt layered over the tee and maybe especially the super cool white ankle boots.
While the long plaid shirt layered over top adds coverage, warmth and a fun mix with the stripes, I love it just as much with the tee flying solo…I mean how could I not? That cute little frenchie with a mustache and striped shirt of his own is too much fun, just like Linda. That’s one of the reasons I love her; Linda’s sense of humor and love of life always telegraphs through her fun outfit choices. Stop by and check out Linda’s full post here. And if you aren’t already following along, you can find Linda on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram for a regular dose of her fun style, travel adventures and her mad home entertaining skills!
I kept my tee basic with my white choker tee paired with my striped wrap skirt that I picked up on sale from GAP last year. I added a hint of print mix with my floral print bomber jacket. That’s the beauty of stripes; they pair perfectly with just about any other print that you can think of. Funny thing is, I was originally going to go with my white ankle boots, but Linda sent me her shots prior to me doing my own so I decided to go with my blush lace up flats to give you all a little variety.
THE TIP
Stripes are one of the easiest prints to mix with. They work well with plaids, florals, leopard…you name it, you can pretty much pair stripes with it.
